Gastritis is generally defined as the swelling, irritation, or erosion of the protective lining of the stomach. Gastritis, also called stomach inflammation, may heighten the chance of gastric sores, stomach bleeding, or gastric cancer. The two primary types of gastritis are erosive gastritis and nonerosive gastritis. Erosive gastritis wears away the lining of the stomach while nonerosive gastritis alters the stomach lining.

Gastritis could arise abruptly (acute gastritis) or occur gradually over a period of time (chronic gastritis). In many instances, the condition does not cause severe complications and settles quickly with treatment. If you are looking for care for gastritis in Phoenix, AZ, help is available. To receive treatment for gastritis, connect with a GI provider at Arizona Digestive Health by requesting a consultation at your nearest location today.

Gastritis can occur if harm is done to the barrier that lines your stomach, leading to inflammation of the stomach lining. Love Dr. Stein! My husband and I feel super blessed to have found this caring doctor. He cares about the good health of his patients and he is going to go the extra mile to make sure he keeps you in that good health. I was so impressed that his office sent annual reminders that I needed my colonoscopy for 3 years straight.... Finally I made it a priority to schedule this important procedure... I don't think I would have done this without he & his staffs staying on top of this 👍👍

I have been a paitent of Dr. Wells since the early 90's. Recently I had an issue come up and called the office. Turns out it was not as severe as I thought. Dr. Wells put me on a prescription after speaking with me in detail on the phone. The issue was resolved quickly. So what's the big deal? He called not once , but two times and left messages for me wanting to know how things were going and if I had any questions. When was the last time a specialist took the time to call personally to see how you were doing under his/her care? I can't remember EVER having that experience. Every 5 years I'm in the center for a test and the staff could not be more professional or attentive. I recommend Dr. Wells and Arizona Digestive Health strongly.
